Dear Resident, On Friday, a vehicle stolen vehicle triggered out ANPR cameras which had also been involved in a robbery offence in the Warwickshire area earlier that day. Officers from the team joined colleagues from Response, Dogs and NPAS (national police air service) in the search for the vehicle. The vehicle was eventually stopped, and the three occupants were all arrested for offences ranging from robbery, burglary, dangerous driving, shoplifting and possession of class A drugs. One of the males was also responsible for several shoplifting offences on the Holbrooks ward so officers from the team were able to arrest the male for those further offences.
On Saturday PCSOs on the team attended a report of a motorcycle that had been hidden in bushes around the outskirts of a local park. The PCSOs attended and located the motorcycle which had to be dragged out of the bushes to allow the recovery agent to attend and collect the vehicle. The vehicle was showing a false number plate which did not match the make and model of the motorcycle. The correct details were obtained from the motorcycle’s vehicle identification number.
On Sunday night two of our officers were on patrol of our wards when they went into an area known for recent issues involving drug use and antisocial behaviour. As they drove down a dead end, they noticed a vehicle with a male in parked at the bottom of the road. The male in the vehicle ducked down to hide from the officers which only drew their attention further. Officers went to speak to the male in the vehicle and checked the vehicle details on the police national computer (PNC) against the number plate shown on the vehicle. Officers then checked the Vehicle identification number (VIN) displayed in the windscreen which did not match. Further checks on the VIN showed that it was a stolen vehicle which has been stolen at the start of February from Radford. The vehicle was on False number plates. The occupant of the vehicle was swiftly arrested and taken to custody. The vehicle was recovered and the rightful owner informed the vehicle had been located.
